who wouldve guessed that the first picture i drew getting back from college would be Roxas :iconhurrplz:

-PLEASE EXCUSE THE HORRIBLENESS THAT IS MY WRITING-
he's been out all night collecting hearts, and he's tired, physically and mentally, there's nothing much else that passes through the mind other than 'why?' and the answer is always 'for Kingdom Hearts' but he cant help but think that there must be more. but without emotions to connect to his thoughts, it's exhausting, and he's left with a poignant emptiness in his chest. and with blood still sticky on his hands, he continues to kill, his thoughts never giving him the peace he never knew he once had.

what a depressing existence.

dont look at the hair. i majorly effed up on it. but i like the skin, it looks like he's sweaty and dirty, which ive never accomplished before! im so happy!

i'm not changing my style or anything, i just wanted to play around with marker effects and shading with blues, there were so many times i wanted to burn the thing i was so pissed with it, but in the end, i guess it turned out ok c:

First thing's first, the contrast is amazing. The hues of he colors are dark and work to a great effect. I love the way you draw Roxie's hair. In the game it's very spiked up but since the picture is smooth and relaxed, it's kind of matted down a bit. I don't know if that's what you're going for but it looks amazing.

Now the face is great, especially the shape which makes him look slim. I also like the foil of Roxie's face to the size of his hair. It's almost the same which I found cool. And the attention to the detail on the facial expression like the eyelids and the shading under the lips for the chin is lovely.

You did such an amazing job on this. I think that the shading with blue has worked out really well on his coat. I don't know about his skin, though, as it seems to give him a sickly color. The blue reflective light made it work, though, like he's out in the city.

I feel like the highlights on his coat are a bit off though. On his left side, shouldn't there be more highlights on his shoulder and whatnot? I feel like there should be, since there are highlights on his cheek and in his hair. It's just something to think about.

You did a great job on making his skin look dirty and sweaty. It almost looks like he's spent the day in the garden. xDDD [that's me being silly]

I want you to try something next time, Kiki dearest. Try coloring with the contours of the subject. In this one, you've done straight/flat strokes - especially on Roxas's sleeve. I feel like his coat is a little flat compared to the rest of him. I think that if you went with the contours it would have an amazing outcome. :]

BOOM! Headshot! Definitely a wonderful piece of work I have been waiting for so long! I didn't even see this picture up close and I figured this would be a great logo for a shirt. Notice how I bring clothing up in every single comment. Maybe I should go shopping soon... :shrug:

Straight off the back, I love the skin. It looks dirty and worn out, which gives this sort of spiffy effect of living without a reason. True, it's kind of far from the original Roxas in the game, considering the hair is more straight and he looks older than he does, but am I really going to be that picky? I think that shallow lighting in the back really brings out a lot of the skin as well, since the audience's concentration would be all over the place then.

Either way, it's a fabulous way to kick back into the KH fanart. I feel bad that in some ways I keep commenting on only these pieces of art from you and not others. I'll try to be more flexible this time around!

I also forgot this game was coming out, considering that I got a DS console for this soul reason. I hope it only works for the DSI, cause then it would be money down the drain! Yet, the people I really hope to see later is the Twilight Town gang. I don't think they were in the second game that much, and it kind of is disappointing. :/

Anyways, enough with he rambling. Overall, I love to see this artwork again, and this is definitely a good sign for what more to come. Hope to see more real soon! :+fav:

^^ hah YAY! Yes, this is very nice. I'm loving the colors (and how you add little splashes of brightness that no one would expect to be there; You just have to look close for those colors) Yes yes, very nice. I just wish you'd added a bit more detail in his hand. Otherwise, amazing effects ^^ <3

Have I ever told you that your skills with prisma markers are amazing? no? Well they are. I've tried coloring with the prismas we have at school and I fail so baaad. I just don't know how you do it.
