THE MOST ADORABLE AND PRECIOUS LITTLE CANON BOYFRANS OF ALL TIME

i started drawing this way back last year when i first started reading the current ongoing marvel comic arc Avengers: the Children's Crusade. i picked it up cuz i heard a lot of good things about it and billy and teddy were constantly all over my tumblr dash, and i thought it was just a boylove shipping fandom thing, BUT NO, THESE CUTE LITTLE PRECIOUS BUTTONS ARE ACTUALLY ADORABLE BOYFRIENDS IN THE COMICS and that initially surprised me because there are very very VERY few gay male comic book characters, (but plenty of lesbians, pff) but what i love most about them is that they're not stereotyped into being prancy, fashion crazy, sassy gay males that the media usually likes to portray homosexuals as. Teddy is a strong, huge metahuman who turns green and hulks out when mad and is the biggest overprotective sweetheart, and billy is a dorky, skinny Jewish nerd who probably has the strongest, most OP powers in the entire marvel universe besides his mom lol. I love them because they're so very normal, just two guys who love eachother, and fight crime together, and act and talk like boys together, and it's so refreshing to see that the media understands that not all gays are the stereotype that we see on tv everywhere. not that anything is wrong with the more flamboyant gays, my roommate is a huge queen, and i love him. this comic was just a nice, unexpected change : D

ANYWAY here is Teddy Allman (Hulkling) and Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and they are cute. give them hugs.

I love how you drew the picture and the colors are very nice. However some of Hulkling's skin looks a bit green. If you were aiming for that then I suggest adding his scales at the green parts but if this wan't intentional then change the green to match the rest of his skin. Also I think that if you can you should get rid of the light writing in the middle. It sort of takes away from the picture. And maybe add some color to the top of the picture. Other than that it's a great drawing indeed Clover :)

I love the attention to detail that you put into the coloring on this piece, specifically the green in Teddy's skin and the way Billy's body suit seems so shiny but still has wrinkles, especially when contrasted to Teddy's. The textures overall are lovely, and really make the costumes pop.
That said, there doesn't seem to be any shadows or light source, so nothing particularly stands out. Even though the two of them are interacting, they look like they were cut from two different pictures and put together.
While I can tell who they because of their costumes, I would otherwise say that this doesn't really look all that much like Billy and Teddy. First of all, they book look way too skinny, especially Teddy. I know that you tend to make people pretty thin in your drawings, but Teddy is a big guy. Even Billy, who is relatively small in the comics, seems scarily thin, especially in the thighs. Billy's face seems off somehow, possibly because I'm used to him with pretty small eyes. His hair though also seems too short and too light, so it doesn't seem to feel like him.
The pose itself is pretty bland. It doesn't really say much to me or say anything special about the two of them. Its sweet, but doesn't really have any substance behind it.
The background/setting confuses me a little, and I don't really know where it is supposed to be. Are they above New York, in the clouds? The white swirls on Teddy's legs seem out of place, and the background is pretty light and hard to make out.
Overall, I feel like this could have been a much more dramatic piece, even from the line art. More dynamic shadows would add a lot, as would a proper setting (though I know you don't like doing them very much). While your style and coloring is as lovely as always, it is just that, sugary sweet and lovely. I feel like this could have been a lot more.

So. Lovely. This is one of my favorite canon pairings. They're just TOO perfect together!
Amazing work on top of that, the coloring is lovely and you were able to put so much emotion in your art; you can see the love on their faces.
