This is a fanart for the beautiful and awesome anime called Mononoke (NOT the ghibl film, this anime is not suitable for children >__>;;; ) my gorgeous

introduced me to it, and i've been ttly obsessed ever since xD it's just so different, the animation is so unique and pretty, and the story is so captivating, and the characters... NNGH

I got so INSANELY inspired to do this piece, i got so excited, i can't remember the last time i was so inspired for anything o__o i got inspired to try tons of new fun traditional techniques, AND IT WAS SO FUN!! I used Prisma markers for the colours, white watercolor pencil and white gel pen for the glass, gold acrylic paint and gold glitter for effect (that doesnt show up on here D: ), and rubber stamps for textures. YES, RUBBER STAMPS! y'now, those ancient things ppl used to use that the stamp-tool on photoshop is named after? THEY'RE AWESOME. AND STILL EXIST. AND TERRIBLY UNDERRATED. i love them.

and i srsly flipped the picture around like, 20 times cuz i couldnt decide which way up i liked more, GAAAAH i still dont know.

The moment I set eyes on Mononoke: The Bond by *Atomic-Clover I fell completely in love with it! The symmetrical composition along with the way they seem to reach out to each other really draw my attention, and the shattered crystal separating them tops it off! Absolutely stunning! ( Suggested by !Natsumi-Star and Featured by ^rydi1689 )

I absolutely LOVE this piece. When it appeared in my message box a while ago, I couldn't help but to favorite it right away. The colors perfectly reflect the anime and the Kusuriuri's character (both is mortal self and his Otherself) is beautifully captured. Even though I have seen both anime he appears in (and read the manga) I find myself wondering just who this guy is, as we never really get to know him beyond his basic surface personality.

Usually when I look at a piece of artwork, I spot its flaws right away. Here, however, I do not see any.

I especially like the background and the cracked glass effect. Very beautiful!

Of the Mononoke series (not the 3 episode Bake Neko one) which is your favourite story?! Mine is the one with the woman who killed herself, as they did it so well and I just had so much fun trying to interpret the episode as I watched it
