I hold her in my arms with tears streaming down my face. She looks at me and whispers ‘I’m so sorry.’ over and over again. Her blood is running through my fingers; She begins to fade, and eventually her eyes shut, her head falling heavily to the side. I hold her for a moment, and slowly, the sadness I feel mutates into something more: a feeling of pure hatred, and rage.
