The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I'M IN ENGLAND!!!!! 8DDD!!

life is so rad

I start school on monday, move-in is saturday,
and so my dad and i came here to parooze around
london for a couple days before i start.

the guys here are really hot.

i really really really wanted to draw pictures on the 8-hour plane 'cause im getting behind, but my dad was sitting right next to me so i had a limited amount of things i could draw.
and when i cant draw boys snogging when i want to, no drawings happen.
it sucks.
so i pooped around in my journal, and watched Speed Racer and Prince Caspian instead

so tomorrow is day two and i get to eat fish and chips tomorrow IM SO EXCITED
and my dad is renting a car. that's gonna be fun, wrong side of the road, wrong side of the car— im going to die

and british accents are automatic hot points. you can look as attractive as toenail fungus and still gain 1,000 attractive points if you have a british accent.
so. effing. hot.

AND OMG the little kids here, were all wearing these adorable school uniforms, the girls had the madeline-looking hats with ribbons and coats, and the boys were adorable with adorable little blue caps DAH i need to draw.
oh speaking of which, i went to a Ratatat concert a couple days ago AND MY AKUROKU WITHDRAWL OVERTOOK ME AND A BAJILLION IDEAS POPPED INTO MY HEAD
it was insta-sex.
all over the place.

u-uhm, uhm, i want to apologize tho, since school is starting, my drawings will be coming in at a depressingly slow rate, same goes for replying to comments, i understand that my in-the-boonies college only gets internet for an hour once a day, making my time to reply to everything crummy.
